Movie : Schindler's List (Holocaust)
Last April 12th, Prof. Michelle Mouton will screen Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List at 6:30, Sage 1210. Schindler's List (1993) is Steven Spielberg's award-winning masterpiece - a profoundly shocking, unsparing, fact-based, three-hour long epic of the nightmarish Holocaust. Its documentary authentically and vividly re-creates a dark, frightening period during World War II, when Jews in Nazi-occupied Krakow were first dispossessed of their businesses and homes, then placed in ghettos and forced labor camps in Plaszow, and finally resettled in concentration camps for execution (Tim Dirks from Flimsite).
Initially Oskar Schindler was an industrialist, a Nazi Party member and a spy for the Nazis. When the Holocaust began, however, he changed his priorities and dedicated his connections, his considerable wealth, and his energy to saving the Jews who worked for him. Academy Award winning Schindler's List presents one of the most famous cases of resistance to the Nazis.
This is another shocking documentary "A Day in Auschwitz" about the Nazis and the holocaust. This documentary takes the viewer through a visit to the infamous concentration camp set up by Hitler's Nazis. This film tells the story of one old woman who survived the Nazi's brutal holocaust. During the interview she described what she went through in the Auschwitz camp. I couldn't repress my astonishment about the unbelievable mass murders. Nearly six million Jews suffered from hunger, violence, disease, and death. I was shocked and my shook body with fear, anger and wretchedness.
After watching Schindler’s List and some documentaries, I looked up more information about Hitler, fascism, Nazism, the holocaust, and World War II. I found how a world economic crisis connected with Nazism and the start of World War II. And I was appalled at how Hitler justified the violence and brutal mass murder with his distorted religious belief. Ostensibly, Hitler emphasized “religious belief and superiority of Germans”, but there were atrocious human selfishness, greed, brutality under his and the Nazis’-regime.

This is a quote by Adolf Hitler. I couldn’t believe that Nazis and most Germans endorsed his illogical and irrational ideas. The Holocaust which showed extreme human’s violence, cruelty, exclusiveness, and even madness, is one of the most brutal incidents in the history of mankind.
